Project Coordinator
NOFA Organic Land Care Program
CT NOFA (Northeast Organic Farming Association)
The NOFA Organic Land Care (OLC) Program, an initiative of the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) is looking for a highly motivated person to coordinate special projects for our rapidly growing multi-state program for organic land care professionals. Our program is the first in the U.S. to define organic landscaping standards and accredit professionals in organic land care. Our accredited professionals have demonstrated a commitment to organic land care by taking our intensive 5-day course, passing our accreditation exam, earning four continuing education credits each year and pledging to provide organic land care according to NOFA standards. There are currently over 450 Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals (AOLCPs) working in 18 states. We promote our accredited professionals through our website, annual Guide, online database and community outreach.
We have created a Homeowner Campaign in an effort to educate homeowners on organic land care and connect them with our Accredited Professionals. Key components in the NOFA Homeowner Campaign are to host a series of workshops geared toward homeowners, publish and publicize a series of seasonal articles, and update and maintain a homeowner’s how-to section on organiclandcare.net.
Additional information on the Organic Land Care program can be found at www.organiclandcare.net.
