NOFA OLC is a multi-state program of the Connecticut Chapter of the Northeast Organic Farming Association (CT NOFA) in partnership with NOFA state chapters (MA, RI, NJ, NY, NH and VT). The program was founded in 1999 by a group of land care professionals, scientists and activists who formed the Organic Land Care Committee. The Committee crafted the Standards for Organic Land Care: Practices for Design and Maintenance of Ecological Landscapes. The Standards are used across the United States as a model for sustainable landscaping practices and have earned international recognition with their acceptance to the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements' (IFOAM) Family of Standards.
