Healthy Yards, Safe Waters Conference to Explain How Organic Practices Protect Our Yards and Waters

New Haven, CT - The NOFA Organic Land Care Program will be hosting the Healthy Yards, Safe Waters Conference on Saturday, March 19th, 2011 in Kroon Hall, a truly sustainable building on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, CT.  This conference will address the importance of organic practices on our yards and lawns, and how pesticides and chemicals affect the health of our yards and our waters.

in Organic Land Care will be held in three states this year:

NOFA Organic Land Care Program Recieves $20,000 from Newman's Own Foudation

Grant to support professional development and outreach

                OXFORD, CT – The Connecticut Chapter of the Northeast Organic Farming Association (CT NOFA) is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $20,000 from Newman's Own Foundation in support of its project, Growing Organic Landscaping in the Northeast.  This project focuses on increasing the availability and visibility of trained and accredited NOFA Organic Land Care Professionals, and increasing homeowner awareness and education about least toxic landscaping methods.

NOFA/Mass Receives $15,000 Grant to Educate Homeowners about Organic Lawn Care

Homeowners from throughout Massachusetts will have the opportunity to learn organic lawn care methods at hands-on workshops in April 2011, thanks to a generous $15,000 grant NOFA/Mass received from the Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
    NOFA/Mass will host a series of 12 organic lawn care workshops during the first-ever “Statewide Organic Lawn Days” next spring, in an effort to provide practical methods and organic lawn care education to homeowners.
