    Compost Tea and Air Spading Advanced Workshop

    On August 9, 2012, the NOFA Organic Land Care Program held its second Advanced Workshop, “Compost Tea and Air Spading” at Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York.  The workshop was a huge success, with over 50 attendees from 5 states, informative presentations, and two outdoor demonstrations.

  • NOFA Organic Land Care Partners with Three Rivers Community College

    The Organic Land Care Program is excited to announce a partnership with Three Rivers Community College in Norwich, Connecticut.  Three Rivers offers a certificate in Sustainable Landscape Ecology and Conservation which is training students in practical skills for the field while teaching valuable principles of sustainablity and organics with a broad application.

    Urban Farm magazine has a great article called "Give Me Mow Solutions"

    The article discusses the growing popularity of battery powered push and riding mowes, sold by Rechard Mower a Canadian company.  Clean Air Lawn Car Company in Colorado uses vehicles mounted with solar panels to charge the equipment during the workday.  And some homeowners are employing the grazing, mowing and fertilizing power of goats.
